Tori Pond
A popular spot representing Miyakojima
Tori Pond is one of the three major diving spots of Miyakojima.
Tori pond is famous as a tourist attraction in Shimojijima. Tori Pond has two ponds.
For diving style, we can enter from the sea outside pond and go up to surface of pond through a large arch that connects sea and pond. Dynamic arch depth is about 20m and sea bottom is sandy at a depth of about 40m. Sometimes we can see Giant trevally, Dogtooth tuna and Sea turtle.
Chemocline is visible at the boundary between freshwater and seawater.
On surface of pond, we sometimes communicate with tourists.
When you descend again, diving toward the sea and returning on the same route.
